Press Release Body: The punk rock band, Strike Orange, is at it again with their peace efforts and political alignment. Last month Strike Orange played at the Peace, Punk and Metal Festival 2008 to help save the people living through horrendous tragedies in Darfur, which is located within the Sudan. All profits from the show went as a donation to the Save Darfur Organization that is backed by presidential candidates like Barack Obama. This month they were informed by Obama campaigners that Strike Orange is invited to play at one of their rallies for the presidential candidate.
Strike Orange, who is only at a median age of 20 years old, already has six albums out and fans all throughout the northeast. The punk rock band aligned their fan-building efforts with Alonce Music Agency a couple of months ago, who has already established possible talks of a record deal with Go Large Records International, LLC (GLRI).
"We feel that Strike Orange has a look that the public will really respond to and music that serves as a peace movement within itself," said Michael Singleton, a representative with GLRI.
If both Strike Orange and GLRI come to a decision to move forward with their music movement, then GLRI will plan an effective initial campaign that will consist of iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, and other internet distribution companies for inclusion within their stores.
"I was approached by Obama's team to play for the presidential candidacy a few weeks ago," Ben Mench-Thurlow said, who is the drummer for Strike Orange. "They found out that I was playing the Peace, Punk and Metal Festival 2008 for such a great cause and they asked me to play for their Albany campaign."
Strike Orange, previously known as Orange Juice to their fans, has been playing around the New England area for several years. With six albums under their belt and industry interest on the rise from all around the country, Strike Orange promotes their non-violent values through songs like "war is hell" and "bombs away." The remarkable talents of Strike Orange found a home at the Save Darfur benefit as well as the Obama team member's hearts and all of those who attended.
Strike Orange can be heard live during their mini tour of the East Coast, called the East Coast Attack Tour. They are playing in Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and all throughout New Jersey.
